Congratulations to Donna Howard For Victory

Democrat Donna Howard beat Republican Ben Bentzin Tuesday to win the District 48 seat in the Texas House for the rest of the year. Howard picked up 58 percent of the vote to Bentzin's 42 percent. The Statesman has the story.

I would like to extend my congratulations to Rep. Howard and her supporters. I look forward to working with the newly elected representative in the upcoming special session.

Folks keep asking when that will be. My best guess-estimate is that the special session will be on or about April 17, 2006. We'll see real soon how good that guess is. What do you think?
