I am deeply troubled by a corruption scandal that is developing in a small community within my district. I won't name the community, I will only say it is a community full of some of the kindest most decent people I have ever met. This is the best way for me to describe this small community of hard working families. Unfortunately for them at least one bad apple that has been a corrupting influence on the area is about to bring shame to the entire community.
This representative struggles with what part to play when he observes or hears that an elected official is destroying the fabric of a community that has such promise. Yet people like this individual prey on the vulnerability of the community's weakest members. Law enforcement has finally caught up with this individual. The pain he has brought to the good people living there is probably not over. They will probably see the stories of corruption plastered in the local papers and on their televisions. Others will throw up their hands and paint the entire community with one broad brush.
Look deeper my friends, goodness rests here. As we speak leaders from within the affected community are working together to try to repair the damage done.
This too shall pass. Let us not lose faith and instead focus on the hard work that is in front of us.

I read the story in today's McAllen Monitor. I agree with you rep. this is a sad story. My parents still live in the Delta area and your right Aaron Gonzalez has given a black-eye to a lot of good people.
The drugs that some of his people pass around are hurting our kids. But the example he is leaving to others hurts so many people especialy the young people.
Why should any of us younger students stay when people like Gonzalez steal taxpayer dollars. The corruption is bad.
There are a lot of us here who feel like I do. Rep. is there any hope for us who want to return to the Delta area?
Is that the same guy "the slate" and Handy uses to run their delta campaign?
I heard that he was offered a deal and that he is turning against his dirty friends. It will be more than Handy if this is true.
Don't even compare this guy to "the slate" & La Bruja Pallasa!!
