Hidalgo County Candidates Debate At Legal Forum



One of the best forums to hear the debate between candidates running for office in Hidalgo County is at Hidalgo County Bar Association Candidate Forum & Debate. Following the debate members of the local bar association conduct a straw poll of those in attendance.

The Monitor newspaper covered the February 16th 2006 event. The following are the official results of the straw poll:

I wouldn't call it biased, but it's interesting to see that some people believe that Omar Guerrero is still their candidate of choice. I mean, the guy never shows up to work, doesn't show up to meetings, doesn't show up to debates.... Laura was right to ask, "Where's Omar?"

Why was Gina Benavides allowed to READ a prepared statement in the rebuttle to the question that Judge Errlinda Castillo was asked?. I know that when one agrees to participate in a legal forum the questions are not known before hand, but obiviously Gina Benavides was informed of the question.
