State Rep. Frank Corte To Be Deployed To Iraq

State Rep. Frank Corte Jr., R-San Antonio, is expected to be deployed to Iraq as part of his tour of duty with the U.S. Marines, 3rd Civil Affairs Group. Corte is expected to leave within the month.

Like Rep. Rick Noriega before him, Corte is expected to appoint an acting representative if Gov. Rick Perry calls a special legislative session while Corte is in Iraq. A public announcement will be made today.

The Associated Press has the story.

if Rep Corte is going to be serving in Iraq, does this mean that his job and responsibility to his constituents is not as difficult or important as some make it out to be? It's time for him and all others trying to play both sides to make up their mind, serve in uniform or serve in politics that you were elected for; even if you haven't run against anyone.
