The day is still not over, before I head over to the UTPA debates I stop by at a local political event. The brother of one of my former staffers is running for a local school board spot. Before I left I was fortunate to hear the voice of a little angel singing the national anthem. I was so touched by the precious, innocent, little voice of young eight year old Suzanne Palacios that I had to record the moment.Suzanne goes to Freddy Gonzalez Elementary and I want to thank her for the inspiring rendition of the National Anthem. Her voice and innocent courage reminded me of what we are fighting for. Education Finance debates are not about winners and losers, its not about whose ox gets gored and who escapes the tax man, its about the precious children from our community, like little Suzanne. Look into this angels little eyes and you see the beauty and promise of our state.
God bless you Suzanne, your little voice melted the heart of this "old" man!
