This morning I, along with Congressman Ruben Hinojosa, was pleased to participate in a grant award presentation to the Southwest Investment Corporation (SCI) in McAllen. AT&T awarded SCI a $25,000 AT&T Excelerator grant.
The company will use the award to fund the Women's Business Resource Center of the Rio Grande Valley. The center is part of a collaboration with the U.S. Small Business Administration providing business consulting, mentoring and training opportunities to women entrepreneurs.
The gathering this morning was filled with women entrepreneurs, excited in the moment for the possibilities of success. Afterwards the Congressman was kind enough to brief me on projects in development for the district. Look for exciting things to come.
Here is the press release from AT&T.
