The Quorum Report is reporting that Lt. Gov. David Dewhurst told a Houston Kiwanis Club yesterday, that the special session will begin on April 17. This is consistent with what other inside sources have been telling me and as I have previously noted on this site.
UPDATE: April Castro at the Associated Press is reporting that an inside source has confirmed that the Governor will make the same announcement tomorrow.

Sorry to hear that the state rep hears about the special session through an internet report who heard it from the Kiwanis who heard it from the Lt. Gov. who heard it from the Gov. himself. I mean, seriously. What kind of relationship does this Gov have with his Leg that he can't pick up the phone and say what's what?
