POST SCRIPT: Absent some unforeseen matter, J.D. Salinas is the newly elected County Judge. My congratulations to the new Judge and his supporters for winning an exciting and competitive election. The Monitor covered the election.

Rep. Pena,
What are you're thoughts on the Election results from Hidalgo County and a few important house seats that you feel are worth talking about, if any?
What now for Ramon, Eric & Omar?
Is there a future for these men.
Ramon will be "around", might not run for office any time soon and is getting up there to start again.
He'll continue to make millions in his practice and won't have to deal with the politcal bashing. Mmm? Who lost again?
Eric's aspirations should be over. No one will back this pony.
Omar. He'll be lucky to not find himself behind bars in the next few years. Good ridance!
The only losers are the people who sold their souls (vote) for $20 dollars and a taco. I sure hope you think it was worth it, because come next year and your taxes are raised, do not think that any of the people you voted for are going to help. On the other hand, i will have a clear conscience because i voted for the right man for the right reasons, Ramon. At the end of the day, i will be able to afford to pay my taxes, but will you? Think of that when you're eating a taco and you're down to your last $20 dollars.

*Sigh*
The trash-talking (on both sides of the aisle, I might add) has moved to this blog.
The race is over, and though the more qualified of the two lost the race (RG), we have to remember that we're all democrats, we're all in this together, and we have to hope that JD doesn't royally screw up Hidalgo Co.
Oh, and congrats on the Koufax nomination, Rep. Pena!
