Early Vote Totals
In excess of ten-thousand Hidalgo County voters cast early ballots in the runoff election for district attorney. At this stage, Hidalgo County DA Rene Guerra collected more than 60% of the 10,300 ballots. He leads his former assistant district attorney Alma Garza 6,177 to 4,076.

Rene Guerra - 55.15% - 12,461 votes
Alma Garza - 44.85% - 10,135 votes

It is sad to know that only 8.31% of the registered voters came out to vote.
