United Airlines Flight 93

I just finished reading the transcript of the conversations from the cockpit of the doomed September 11, United Airlines flight. Hijackers try to shake off passengers trying to take control of the plane as it flies over Pennsylvania. As you read the transcript you are given a view into those last terrible moments experienced by the passengers. You also get a view into the twisted minds of the highjackers who at that time proclaim that God was at the center of their actions. Like so many others they seemingly believed that God is on their side.

God will certainly bless the highjacked, they suffered a terrible fate. In the face of death, their courage is evident. As to the twisted in this world, who think that by bringing harm and terror to other human beings you serve God, you are certainly wrong and will undoubtedly get a quick answer to the question.

Islam does not condone, nor do any of the other major religions, condone these actions.

According to legend, a visitor to the White House during the Civil War
said to Lincoln, "God is on our side." Lincoln was said to have replied:

"We trust, sir, that God is on our side.
It is more important to know that we are on God's side."

Claims which people make that "God is on our side" is an arrogant step. As to the highjackers, their final judgment is before them. For the living, we must always look with great disdain on anyone, right or wrong from our point of view, who makes such a claim.
