Blessed Friday

Love transcends darkness and that principle is most strongly communicated in this touching scene from the movie Passion of the Christ. It is one of my favorites. Although Good Friday marks, in the Christian view, the crucifixion and death of Jesus at Calvary and the sacrifice made, the scene of a parent's love for her child never fails to touch me. Like the Roman soldier in this scene we are transfixed by the simply beauty, sacrifice and courage a mother shows for her child even in the face of danger.
