Rep. Juan Escobar appeared on national television yesterday on MSNBC's afternoon news program to debate immigration issues with Chris Simcox, the President of the Minuteman Civil Defense Corps. Juan held his own and did an admirable job however a brief and honest slip-up by the news anchor has brought him a fair amount of good-natured ribbing from his House colleagues. As the news anchor was dealing with technical difficulties she referred to Rep. Escobar as "Ramon." Although it was far better than calling him "Jose," this honest mistake brought the good representative congratulatory phone calls to his office, thanking "Ramon" for a job well done.
