The Monitor reports the passage of our "Copper theft bill" (HB 1766) out of the Texas House. "Trying to make a few bucks by stealing increasingly valuable copper, bronze or aluminum could soon land metal-minded thieves in the slammer," reported the paper. The bill passed on a vote of 142-1 on Wednesday. It now moves to the Senate.
