Clearing the Air on The "13th Check"

I have had considerable discussions with teachers regarding the "13th Check". There has been some confusion regarding the checks to be received by retired teachers in January. This entry is to help clarify the matter.

I am told that rumors have circulated amongst educators that retired teachers that have been rehired will not qualify for the "13th Check". Let me state that that rumor is false. All retired teachers that entered retirement on or before December 31, 2006 will receive a "13th Check". Their subsequent hiring does not affect that check coming to them.
