So Begins the Period of Pon Farr

As we anticipated earlier, the most contentious and partisan bill (Voter ID) of the 81st legislative session has been set for Saturday. I would at the earliest expect it to come up on Saturday afternoon or more likely on the following working day. This estimation does not consider any extended lost period of time due to "chubbing" or the failure of the body to hold a quorum. I am not necessarily saying this is going to happen or that it is appropriate in these specific circumstances, it is simply a clarification.

I will comment more fully at a later point on my personal views of what I will satirically call the legislative period of "Pon farr*" where normal expected rules of the natural order are suspended so that the combatants can exercise their latent hostilities.

I personally am looking forward to moving on from this issue so that we can deal with some of the more pressing issues confronting the state.

So it begins ...

* (Taken from the fiction based Star Trek series Pon farr is a syndrome that all Vulcan males painfully endure periodically throughout their adult life, becoming extemely combative.)
